Lacima

For families at a distance

A friendly call for the people you love

Lacima phones someone you love — a parent, a grandparent, an aunt who lives alone, a friend nobody rings any more — at the times you choose, holds a real conversation in their own language, and sends you a short summary afterwards. They need no smartphone, no app and no new habits — just their telephone.

Two minutes, in your browser. No sign-up, no phone number.

How it works

Three steps, and only the first one asks anything of you.

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about them

Their name, their phone number, the language they are most comfortable in, and when they like to be called.

  2. Step 2

    We call, and we listen

A warm, unhurried conversation. Our assistant says clearly that it is an AI, never rushes, and remembers the people and plans that matter to them.

  3. Step 3

    You hear how they are

A short summary in your language after every call, plus an alert if they say something you should know about.

Who this is for

Not everyone needs this. These are the situations families come to us with.

What you receive

  • A short summary after every call, in your language: what they talked about, and how they seemed.
  • A note when something deserves your attention — a fall mentioned in passing, a missed appointment, a low mood that lasts.
  • Nothing else. No dashboard to check daily, no notifications competing for your attention.

In their language, not ours

Six languages today. The conversation happens in theirs; your summary arrives in yours.

English · Français · Español · Deutsch · Italiano · Português

What happens to what is said

  • Only the people you name

Summaries go to the family members you have authorised and to nobody else. We do not sell data and we do not advertise.

  • Yours to take back

Everything is handled under the GDPR, and you can export or delete all of it from your account, without asking anyone.

  • They always know it is an AI

The assistant says so in its first sentence, every time, and never claims to be a person. It will never ask for a code, a card number or money.

Questions families ask

Will my mother really talk to a machine?

Some take to it straight away and some do not — which is exactly why there is a demo, and why you can stop at any time. What surprises most people is that the conversation is real: she is listened to rather than processed, and she is told plainly, in the first sentence, that she is speaking with an artificial intelligence.

Does this replace my visits?

No, and it is not meant to. It is for the Tuesday when nobody can come. The summary usually gives you something to open with the next time you call, which is rather the opposite of replacing you.

Does she need a smartphone, or the internet?

No. Any telephone works, including an old landline. There is nothing for her to install, to learn, to charge, or to answer differently.

Can it use my voice, or a relative's?

No. We do not clone voices and we never will. Hearing your daughter's voice come out of a machine is not comfort, and the assistant never pretends to be a relative, a doctor or an official.

What happens in an emergency?

The assistant cannot call an ambulance, and says so honestly if asked. If they say something worrying it stays calm, encourages them to contact real help, and alerts you. It is not a monitoring system and must not be relied on as one.

What if she asks it to stop calling?

It tells her plainly that it will pass that on, ends the call kindly, and you are told. Her wish comes before your subscription.

What Lacima is not

Lacima is a companionship service. It is not a medical device, not an emergency service and not a monitoring system. It does not diagnose, it does not give medical advice, and it never contacts emergency services on its own. If someone is in danger, call your local emergency number.

Start with one call tomorrow morning.

No installation for them. Nothing to learn. Just their own phone, ringing at a time they like.
