Lacima

What Marie actually does

No app for them to learn, no device to install. Everything below happens over the telephone they already own.

  • A conversation, not a questionnaire

She asks one thing at a time and then stops. She lets silences be silences, follows what interests them, and never works through a checklist. Older people often need a few seconds to begin a sentence, and she waits.

  • She remembers

The granddaughter studying in Lyon, the tomatoes on the balcony, the appointment on Tuesday. She brings them up the way a friend would, and never says she has notes or records.

  • In their language, not ours

Six languages today, chosen per person and never guessed from a phone number. Your summary arrives in yours.

  • You decide who she is

The name she calls them, her voice, and how she talks — warm, chatty, calm or brief. You can add notes about their life so she has something to start from. She will never use your voice or a relative's: we do not clone voices, and she never claims to be a person.

  • She can be called back

On the plans that include it, your relative can ring the number themselves, at any hour, and she answers. Some people prefer to be the one who calls.

  • A summary, and a word when it matters

After each call you get a few lines: what they talked about and how they seemed. If something deserves your attention — a fall mentioned in passing, a mood that has stayed low — you are told separately.

  • Any telephone works

A landline is fine. Nothing to charge, nothing to install, nothing to answer differently. If they can pick up the phone, they can use this.

  • Your side of it

A dashboard for the family: schedules, summaries, who is allowed to see them. Nothing to check daily — the email finds you.

Who it suits

Anyone who likes talking and does not get to do enough of it. It works particularly well for people who live alone, for the weeks after a hospital stay, and for those who find a screen harder than a handset — including people whose memory is not what it was, since she can repeat herself patiently and without making a point of it.

And what it is not

Lacima is a companionship service. It is not a medical device, not an emergency service and not a monitoring system. It does not diagnose, it does not give medical advice, and it never contacts emergency services on its own. If someone is in danger, call your local emergency number.

Start with one call tomorrow morning.

No installation for them. Nothing to learn. Just their own phone, ringing at a time they like.
